Screw Compressors

Screw compressors are used in a wide range of sectors and different applications, which makes them very versatile, being the best option when constant pressure is needed for a long time. They are driven by two screws that compress the air as it moves through the compressor, using rotary movements to do so.

Their design is focused on constant use, being able to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their noise levels are very low, around 60 dBA, which means they are characterized by quiet operation and also by their efficiency in the production of compressed air. Their technology combines a high air flow with a compact design that saves space. Their service life is longer than that of reciprocating compressors, so they can be considered a long-term investment.

The main advantages of screw compressors are: their continuous operation with little or no downtime, easy maintenance reducing maintenance costs, high performance being able to operate with high air flows and extreme temperatures, quiet operation and, finally, energy efficiency as they produce less heat and conserve energy better.

Rotary screw compressors differ from piston or reciprocating compressors because they are not affected by valves and other mechanical forces that cause imbalances and, as a consequence, the compressor’s operating speed increases, reaching high standards and offering a large air flow despite their compact size.

We can find two versions of screw compressors: oil-lubricated and oil-free, both available with fixed speed or variable speed, and with single-stage or two-stage configurations.
